AgConnections NT

Charles Darwin University’s (CDU) AgConnections NT program aims to bridge the gap between university students and the agriculture industry. The program will focus on

· Understanding the agribusiness requirements and skill gaps

· Promoting agriculture sector career pathways to students from Engineering, IT and Environmental Studies disciplines

It will work with key NT-based agricultural organizations and agribusinesses to offer workshops and short courses that will equip students with the required skills relevant to this sector. The program will prioritize participation from First Nations People and women to increase diversity in the industry.

The program will also facilitate work-based learning opportunities for students from disciplines of IT, Engineering and Environmental Studies in agribusinesses. A weekend immersion will be offered in 2025 and 2026 to two student cohorts at the CDU Katherine Campus, where students will explore modern careers in the agricultural industry and agribusinesses/farm businesses through hands-on activities and workshops.
